Communion tablecloth embroidery

Altar tablecloth decorated with two types of embroidery, one for the front of the tablecloth and one for the two sides.

  • Communion tablecloth front embroidery

The embroidery on the front is a confection with various liturgical elements.
The central part of the composition is made up of several Eucharistic embroideries. One of them is a vine branch with golden leaves and grapes that evoke the Eucharist and wine as a representation of the Blood of Christ: "Take and drink from it, all of you, for this is the chalice of my Blood, Blood of the covenant new and eternal word that will be poured out for you and for all men for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me."
The second element is ears of wheat with golden grains that represent the Eucharistic Bread and the Body of Christ: "Take and eat all of it, because this is my Body, which will be given for you."
The third element is the Communion chalice embroidered with gold thread.
The fourth and last Eucharistic element is the consecrated Bread, the Body of Christ.
Completing the central composition are ripe ears of wheat in brilliant gold.

  • Side embroidery of the Communion tablecloth

The embroidery on the two lateral sides of the altar cloth is exactly the same as the one in the center of the composition on the front of the tablecloth: the Communion chalice, the consecrated Bread, the ears of wheat and the vine leaf with Grapes
