The image represents La Piedad. It is solid and made of polyester resin. Its size is 60 centimeters. It represents the Virgin holding the dead body of Jesus on her lap. The Virgin is dressed in a white and gold tunic. The body of Jesus lies dead with visible wounds and blood on his body.

This work of imagery is based on Michelangelo's original work called The Vatican Pietà. In the original sculpture it represents a young Virgin holding Christ in her arms. The work is made of marble and is one of the four representations of the Pietà that Michelangelo made throughout his life.
