Electric candles for processions, operation

Battery-operated candles for Holy Week processions have a very simple lighting system. For these models of electric candles to illuminate during liturgical processions and/or brotherhoods, all you have to do is place the batteries inside the candles.

The process of installing the batteries is very simple, but we must pay attention to two fundamental points:

Pila para verla procesional

  • Type of batteries for procession candles

AA batteries are the ones that should be used in the processional candles of brotherhoods. It is important that the positive area of the battery, which is usually marked with a "+" symbol, where the positive pole of the battery is located (also known as the positive button, positive electrode or cathode), is covered with a plastic film . In other words, the part surrounding the positive pole is protected by plastic to prevent the battery from coming into contact with the metal part of the processional candle, making contacts that could damage the candle or the battery.

  • Placing the batteries inside the candle for processions.

The way of placing the batteries is the second variable that must be taken into account so that the electric candles have an optimal performance. It is important that the two batteries that are going to be placed inside the candles are placed with the positive poles towards the area where the light bulb is . Placing the batteries in another position, that is, placing the positive pole of one or both batteries facing the part of the processional candle located at the opposite end of the bulb, could cause the electric candle bulbs to light but overheating and/or damage to the candle system occurs, or that the electric candles do not light up.

Battery-powered candles for processions, advantages over Easter wax candles

Battery operated procession candles are a great alternative to wax candles. They have numerous advantages over traditional candles that have been used for many years in processions.

  • Battery operated procession candles emit light but do not emit flame.

This feature is especially noteworthy. The absence of flame, of fire in short, avoids the risks associated with the use of wax candles, especially burns. This is especially important when the candles are carried by boys or girls. The smallest of the house are not aware of the danger that fire can pose. With battery-powered processional candles all these situations are avoided.

  • Electric processional candles are light and easy to carry.

Traditional wax candles can become very heavy, especially after certain measurements.

  • Electric candles for processions are clean, they do not generate waste.

Traditional candles generate a large amount of waste derived from wax and flame. It is common for the wax that melts during the processions to end up on the ground or on the robes of the brothers and/or the clothes of the faithful who accompany the procession. Wax is difficult to remove from clothing and can cause burns if it gets on your skin.
