The Catholic ornament is embroidered with Advent wreaths. Each of the wreaths is made up of a vegetal base embroidered with green thread and four lighted purple candles with a golden flame.

The season of Advent is the prelude to Christmas. During Advent, we prepare for the celebration of the Birth of Jesus.

This double aspect of the Advent season is reflected in the typical colors of these dates. In the first place, the liturgical color purple, as a symbol of penance, and, secondly, the color pink, as a symbol of hope.

Taking into account the importance of purple and pink in Advent, it is common for altar tablecloths to reflect these two colors, either in embroidery, decoration or in the tablecloth itself.
