Santa Cecilia, life of the Roman saint

Cecilia of Rome , universally known as Saint Cecilia of Rome, was a Roman citizen belonging to a noble family. He lived in the capital of the Roman Empire between the second and third centuries after Christ.

Santa Cecilia was educated in the prevailing polytheistic religions at that time. Very soon he discovered the Christian faith and found in it the true path. He converted to and defended the teachings of Jesus.

Saint Cecilia , like many early Christians, was killed by the authorities for defending the teachings and truth of Jesus. The Saint was one of the many martyrs who suffered the torments of the repression of the Roman Empire.

November 22, Saint Cecilia's Day, Music Day

Santa Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians and poets. For this reason it is usually represented with a musical instrument, most of the cases a harp.

On the twenty-second day of November of each year we celebrate the day of Santa Cecilia . At the end of the 16th century, Pope Gregory XII named Saint Cecilia the patron saint of music because the Saint was a great fan of musical compositions. Santa Cecilia was a woman very committed to music. He had a particularly sensitive soul for this kind of artistic expression.

Since the proclamation of Santa Cecilia as patron saint of music , November 22 , the day of the Saint's birth, has been established as Music Day . Date on which we celebrate people, composers, musicians, etc... who have dedicated their lives to awakening all kinds of feelings in others through songs, poems...
