Teresa de Cepeda y Ahumada who was born in the city of Ávila on March 28, 1515, and died in Alba de Tormes (Salamanca) in the year 1582. In the year 1614 she was beatified by Pope Paul V. In the year 1622 she was canonized by Pope Gregory XV. In 1970 she was appointed Doctor of the Universal Church by Paul VI. In 2015 the five hundredth anniversary of his birth will be celebrated with the promulgation of the Teresian Jubilee Year.

The Teresian Jubilee Year grace that Pope Francis grants to all the parishes of Spain. It will be held from October 15, 2014 to October 15, 2015.
