Symbolism of the Embroideries
The stole is embroidered with three religious elements.
The Chi-Rho, Christogram or monogram of Christ (XP), a symbol of Christ formed by the Greek letters Chi (X) and Rho (P), the first two letters of Christ in Greek: Χριστός (Christós, “the anointed one”).
The Alpha and Omega, the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet, represent Christ as the beginning and end of all things.
