New candle votive stand for Catholic Chruch

The new candle stand are a great evolution compared to electronic lampstands that currently exist on the market. The most important novelties are:

  • LED candles imitating wax candles, the oscillating light

The candles that this new candle stand uses imitate the flame of the wax candles of the first generation lampstands. That is to say, that the flame of the LED candles of the new candle stand for a real flame of fire.
Although it sounds simple, it was one of the most complicated design points. The flame of wax candles is a very difficult element to imitate.

There are different electric candles on the market that try to imitate the fire flame of wax candles. The most used solution is variations in the intensity of the light, which simulates a movement reminiscent of natural candles. It is a good solution, but there is no real movement that causes shadows or contrasts.

In this church lampstand, LED lighting has been taken to a new level compared to wax candles. To achieve this, what we have called oscillating light has been introduced. That is, a small oscillating tab that moves randomly on an axis located on the body of the candle. This mobile element ensures that the LED light is reflected and creates an environment similar to that of wax candles.

  • A sturdy electric candle holder

Lampstands have always been an element of parish furniture that is susceptible to attacks, since inside they house donations.

This detail has been very present when making the design of the electric votive candle stand. A product has been sought that was as robust as possible while being elegant.

The structure of the lampstand is made of metal and has a security lock.

  • An elegant votive candle stand

Safety has a priority role in the design, but so does the aesthetic component. The votive candle holders are pieces of furniture within the Catholic churches. They must have an aesthetic that allows them to be placed in different places.

The lamp stand is finished off in a sober and elegant color, black.

The lines are straight and minimalist. An attempt has been made to eliminate all accessory elements so that all attention is focused on the candles, the true protagonists of the design.

The purse has been integrated into the front, giving continuity to the shape of the base.

  • Self-installing spare parts

Although the votive candles have a very long useful life (thousands of hours of lighting), and the other components are tested, there is always a small percentage that some elements will be defective.

For these cases, special care has been taken to use easily replaceable parts. In the candle stands of previous generations, the candles were connected to the plate by means of complex wiring. In this candleholder model, all the wiring has been eliminated. The candles are connected to the processor by means of pins. This allows changing the candle to be as simple as plugging the lamp into the socket.

  • Guaranteed international delivery

Transporting high-volume parts is always a challenge for delivery companies.

Previous generation votive candle stand are shipped assembled, which meant large boxes.

The design of this candleholder has been made with international transport in mind. A box has been created to measure the pieces of the candle stand to be able to send the product unassembled.

The advantages of being able to ship the candle stands unassembled are very great.

  1. The risk of damage is reduced. The pieces are placed in a custom box. Each of the parts has a certain location.
  2. Lower the price of transportation. This point is especially important when it comes to international transport. The previous lamp stands were shipped on pallets. Now it can be shipped in boxes of approximately 30 kg. of weight. The measurements of the box are 103 long by 40 deep by 55 high.
  3. Once the candle stand is received in the church, it can be easily assembled in less than 10 minutes since it only.

Evolution of electric lamps for Church

Technology is an inexhaustible source of change. The products of the liturgical field are in continuous improvement. In the case of electric lamps, a religious article with a clear technological component, this evolution is much more present than in other more traditional products.

This new votive candle holder is the sum of the knowledge acquired over several decades manufacturing this type of product. Our new candle stand is the result of the evaluations and opinions of the faithful and parish priests, of people who have given us their experience to improve products that have improved the way we used to understand parish life: the third generation electric candle stands.

We have called them fourth generation electronic lamps because we understand that there have been four fundamental stages in the history of parish lamps.

  • First generation votive candle stands

The first generation electronic candle stands are the most traditional candleholders. Candlesticks made of metal, bronze, wrought iron, etc. that serve as a support to place candles or wax candles.

There are a great variety of wrought iron votive candles stand, but the most common are those with a rectangular base and the candles are located on steps in the shape of a platform.

Candle stands or wax candles have been used in our churches in recent years. Some parishes have replaced them with electronic votive candleholders, but in others they are still used on a daily basis.

The crucial reason for them to continue to be part of our daily Chruch life is the environment generated by the color and warmth of the flame of the wax candles. The flame of the candles continues to be an element that favors reflection and an approach to God.

  • Electric wooden candle stands, the second generation votive candle stands

The advancement of technology allows that in the last third of the s. XX begin to arrive in our churches, the first votive candle stands that worked with electric bulbs lights.

They were lamps that took advantage of the memories of the time and introduced a technology that had never been present in parishes.

They automated the process of lighting candles by inserting coins and allowed parishes that so wished to dispense with the use of wax candles.

Wax candles, despite the beauty of the candle flame, have several drawbacks within a church.

  1. Candles generate smoke, which can damage parish heritage.
  2. They can also generate an odor during combustion, which could make the celebration of the Eucharist a bit uncomfortable.
  3. Another important factor is that the candle flame can be dangerous, causing burns and even fires. A church usually has pieces of furniture made of wood, or items of clothing such as the mantles of the images, which could be a risk if one has a fenced control of the flame of the candles.

The manufacture of the first wooden candle stands was due to two reasons: price and weight. The wooden structure of the lamps is cheaper and less heavy than a metal structure.

Despite what has been said, over the years, most votive candle stand manufacturers have tended towards metal-framed or wrought iron candle stands. The main reason for this change is security.

Brass votive candle stands are much safer. They better resist any attempt to force their inside.

  • Candles LED light candle stands, third generation

The continuous evolution of the candle stand experienced a great leap thanks to two new technologies that were introduced: LED candles and microprocessors.

LED candles light candle stands

On horseback between the s. XX and the s. XXI a new technology appeared that would change the way we illuminate our homes and churches. The new bulbs with LED technology came to replace traditional lights, which we know as incandescent bulbs.

The appearance of LED candles was a revolution in the candle stand market. Traditional light candles disappeared and gave way to new candle stands that are much more efficient both in terms of consumption and duration. LED candles reduced the cost of light from the lamps by between 30 and 50%, as well as lengthening the life of the product.

Everything resulted in the candle stands becoming a much cheaper religious article. The maintenance was less and the duration was greater.

The new LED candles light  had an almost unlimited lifespan. Priests could buy the new LED votive candle stands, plug them into their church, and forget about it. You no longer had to worry about replacing light bulbs every so often.

Votive candle stand with microprocessors

In addition to the new LED candles, the use of microprocessors to manage candle lighting functions was normalized.

By using these processors, you can program configurations that were not possible before. A clear example is that the new votive candle stands did not allow all the candles to be lit. When all the candles were lit, the system automatically started the circuit again. The first candles in the lamp stand are extinguished.

  • Fourth generation electric lanterns for churches

All the journey we have made brings us to the present. All the knowledge that has been accumulated over the years brings us to the design of the fourth generation votive candle stands.

The new electronic candle stand for churches try to take the benefits that the faithful and priests perceived from the lamps of previous generations and, on the other hand, eliminate the drawbacks that each of them had.
