Description of Ecce Homo
The image of Ecce Homo is made of pulp wood. It represents the image of Jesus suffering after being scourged. All over his body you can see the wounds and blows he has suffered during his torture. His hands are tied tightly. His body is covered by a violet robe with gold motifs hand-painted in oil paint. The figure is decorated with the crown of thorns , which the Romans put on Jesus to mock him as king of the Jews, and with golden metal lightning bolts.
