Non-drip candle | Easter Virgil and processions candles

Holy Week, Corpus Christi or patron saint processions, and liturgical celebrations are closely linked to the use of candles.

The light of the candles, within the Catholic Church, are a symbol of Christ and are very present in most of the events of the liturgical year.

Currently, there are a number of alternatives to illuminate churches and processions: candles and electric, battery-powered, paraffin candles, etc... Although there are other alternatives, many priests, Easter brotherhoods, etc… prefer the light generated by candles traditional wax.

Wax tealights are still commonly used in parishes, on the steps of Holy Week processions, ... Candles are still very present in all religious areas.

Despite the great beauty of wax candles and tealights, it can be said that they have a small defect: the drops of melted wax that run down the tealight or candle as they are consumed.

The melted wax can become very annoying due to the remains it can leave on the floor, pieces of furniture or on the clothes of the participants in the liturgical celebrations. Wax stains are difficult to remove on any surface.

For example, during the Easter Vigil, at the moment of the proclamation of the Resurrection of Jesus, the tealights are lit with the Paschal Candle. This precious moment has a high symbolic load, Jesus has defeated death and darkness, our Savior returns to life to bring light to the world. The light from the tealights illuminates the church, what was darkness and gloom becomes clarity and hope.

During this wonderful time when the tealights are lit, a lot of wax could fall on the floor. Logically, during the celebration this fact is unimportant, but could the wax be prevented from spilling? That is to say:

Can you buy non-drip tealights?

Starting from this premise, work begins on obtaining a mixture of wax and paraffin that does not drip, that is, making non-drip candles and tealights. Candles made of a mixture of wax and paraffin that is self-consuming and that does not leave any residue that could stain the floor, the furniture, the clothes of the faithful, etc...

Non-drip tealights are the result of this work. Non- drip candles are candles that do not generate melted wax despite having the same combustion characteristics, size and duration as tradicional wax Easter Virgil candles.
