Embroidered front

The chasuble has a large front embroidery made up of three compositions.

  • Eyes of Providence embroidery

At the top of the set we find a triangle with an eye inside. The outline of the triangle is decorated with golden sparkles. This Christian symbol is known as the Eye of Providence. The triangle is a reflection of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The eye in the symbol of the omnipresence of God. Our Lord is everywhere and sees everything.

  • Holy Spirit Embroidery

The dove is one of the symbols traditionally identified with the Holy Spirit. In the embroidery of the golden chasuble the dove is represented seen from the front with open wings. The head is decorated with a golden halo symbolic of divided illumination.

  • Christ on the Cross embroidery

The embroidery located in the lower part of the chasuble is the representation of Christ on the Cross. After suffering during the Via Crucis carrying the Cross on his own shoulders, Christ is Crucified on Mount Golgotha together with two thieves. On the Cross, Our Lord will suffer indescribable pain before giving his life for the salvation of humanity. Every Holy Week we remember the sacrifice of Jesus who with his Death and Resurrection opened the doors of Eternal Life to humanity.

Embroidered back

The embroidery on the back of the chasuble is a simpler composition than the one that can be seen on the front.

The chasuble is decorated with the letters JHS embroidered in gold thread.

The outline of the letters is decorated with golden sparkles.
