Interview with Antonio Moreno, coordinator of "Rosario por España"

Today we meet Antonio Moreno, the young coordinator of "Rosario de España", an initiative that we would like you all to know about since we found it very interesting. Let's see what it is about in the mouth of Antonio himself.

Brabander Religious Articles - Good morning Antonio, first of all thank you for this opportunity that you offer us.

Antonio - Thanks are mine, for giving me the opportunity to present this noble initiative that the Rosary for Spain represents to its readers.

BBD - We have been investigating about you and your work, but we would like you to tell us, who is Antonio Moreno and what are his occupations?

Antonio - Well, personally, I can define myself as a 25-year-old man from Murcia, who has finished his studies in Agricultural Technological Engineering, and who seeks to combine academic training and the search for job stability, with the commitment to this much-needed apostolate, such as the Rosary for Spain, for the future of our country.

On a spiritual level, I can define myself as a "convert" who a few years ago rediscovered his Catholic Faith, -for which I am very grateful to God and to our Mother Mary-, after a period in which I was away from the Church and of God. Knowing the troubles of living a life far from the Faith has undoubtedly been an important factor in acquiring a greater commitment in defending it, which is the true source of our eternal salvation, but also of our happiness. on earth.

BBD - We know that coordinating all the activities of "Rosario de España" is one of the tasks that takes up the most hours of your time. We would like you to explain to us how this initiative was born and what exactly it is about.

Antonio - It is an initiative that arises from a group of lay Catholics also supported by several priests in the face of the serious general situation that our society is experiencing. The initiative consists of the public recitation of the Holy Rosary on the 12th of each month, applied to face the evils as serious as our country suffers, an example of this are; generalized de-Christianization, attacks on life and family, or attempts to sow hatred and division among Spaniards. The public nature of the Rosary for Spain is due to the need to bear witness to Faith, and to defend the need that the expression of said Faith should not be limited to a private sphere, but can and should be public. Another fundamental reason is that during the Year of Faith in which we are currently, and which was promulgated by our Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, there is a plenary indulgence for those who publicly testify to it. The choice of the 12th of each month as the auspicious day to pray the Rosary for Spain was made because both our National holiday, as well as the day of our Patron Saint, the Virgen del Pilar, is celebrated on October 12, also the December 12 is the festivity of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of Hispanity.

As for its origins, initially the Rosary for Spain began on November 12 last year as a local initiative in Murcia, the city where I am from, but it quickly expanded to other cities, thanks to God and with the help of some excellent volunteers, who with their effort and enthusiasm have bravely contributed to the expansion of the initiative.

BBD - "The salvation of Spain is encrypted in the Rosary", is a phrase that we believe has had a capital importance in the birth of "Rosario de España", what can you tell us?

Antonio - The Rosary for Spain is based on the immense trust and love we have for our Heavenly Mother and also for our Martyrs and Saints. We trust especially in the revelation that the Virgin gave to Saint Anthony Mary Claret and in which she told him that "The salvation of Spain is encrypted in the Rosary" , faithful to these words of our Mother, we want to ask for the Divine favor to reverse the dynamics of self-destruction that the country is experiencing. To make of Spain what it has been historically, a Nation faithful to its evangelizing vocation and defender of the Catholic Tradition.

BBD - Moving on to the practical part, how do you carry out your work?

Antonio - The most important thing is that we have a spiritual direction from some magnificent priests. This spiritual direction marks the guidelines on the fundamental aspects of the initiative, such as the specific needs for which each mystery of the Rosary is applied, the previous and subsequent prayers that accompany the prayer, the symbols of the apostolate or other details that may arise.

Communications with those responsible for the Rosary for Spain in the different cities is usually through the Internet or by telephone. I have to say that I have had the pleasure of personally meeting several of them, as is the case with José Manuel responsible for Madrid or Javier responsible for Logroño. In the not too distant future, we are looking at the possibility of getting together for a weekend and holding a National Meeting of all the supporters and collaborators of “Rosario por España”, to which, of course, all of you are invited.

We made the posters in Murcia with the help of José María, who is our computer scientist and one of the people most committed to this initiative. It basically consists of posters and pages that are sent to the different cities either through postal delivery or the designs are sent by email to be printed in the different locations. These posters and pages are subsequently distributed in churches, adoration chapels, etc., to publicize the initiative among the faithful and to guarantee good attendance at prayer month after month.

Funding is provided by voluntary donations to local officials, or to an account number that we have enabled in our Blog.

BBD - What do you enjoy most about this way of working?

Antonio – For me it is a satisfaction and a healthy pride, to defend my Faith and my Country in the best way I know, and in the best way that can be done, through prayer and trust in our Lord and our Heavenly Mother. It is also very gratifying to see that more and more cities are joining the initiative and that hundreds of people gather every day on the 12th of each month to pray for Spain, united under the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

BBD - We have also seen that you have an intense activity through the internet...

Antonio – That's right, we have a Blog, where we offer information on all the details of the initiative; the places and times where the Rosary is held, the chronicles of each month, some articles and interviews of interest, etc. We also use social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to spread the initiative and we write in some Catholic digital media, which give us their support to make the initiative known among their readers.

BBD - We wanted to ask you about a Spanish flag that we have seen in your photos. How did the idea of this symbol come about?

Antonio - When we started the Rosary for Spain, out of personal conviction, and on the advice of the three magnificent priests who assist us spiritually, we decided to use the flag of Spain with the Sacred Heart as a symbol of this Rosary Crusade for the conversion of Spain. Few know that the inclusion of the Sacred Heart in the National flag is an express request of Our Lord Jesus Christ to his servant Mother Rafols, founder of the Sisters of Charity of Santa Ana. Two centuries before, Our Lord Jesus Christ had made a request similar to Santa Margarita María Alacoque when asking the King of France to put his Sacred Heart on the flag of the Gallic country.

More specifically, the words that our Lord said to Mother Rafols were: “I want all men to wear the insignia of my Merciful Heart, and to those who wear it devoutly, I promise great graces of eternal salvation. I want this insignia to be represented everywhere with veneration, even on the flag of my beloved Spain, and this must be regarded as one of the greatest thanks that I can give them and as proof that I want Spain to always be great”.

BBD - Thank you very much for attending us, and we do not want to say goodbye to you without giving you the opportunity to add everything you consider appropriate.

Antonio – My thanks are due for your kindness and for giving me the opportunity to make this apostolate known among the readers of Brabander. I would like to give up the opportunity to encourage all those who want to collaborate in one way or another with the Rosary for Spain to contact me via email rosarioxesp@hotmail.es .

Thank you all very much, and God Bless you.
